
The Amadour Trail - GR 81
What if you walked into a legend? The GR 81, also known as the Chemin d’Amadour, offers more than 500km of itinerary between Soulac-sur-Mer and Rocamadour. This long-distance hiking trail crosses some of the most beautiful countryside in the South-West, between the Gironde estuary, prestigious vineyards, abbeys, bastides and villages steeped in history.
The Médoc stages:
- Pauillac → Fort Médoc (30 km): Between estuary and military heritage, a crossing punctuated by carrelets and the majesty of Fort Médoc.
- Cussac-Fort-Médoc → Margaux → Le Pian-Médoc (23.5 km): Head for Margaux and its Grands Crus Classés, a symbol of the Médoc art of living.
Le Pian-Médoc → Bordeaux (21 km): A beautiful arrival in Bordeaux, a city of art and history.
Margaux, the pearl of the vineyards, welcomes you with its vineyards, gastronomy and hospitality. An epicurean and restful stopover, in the heart of a living Jacobean heritage.
