Châteaux Giscours

Château Giscours, a place where vineyards meet elegance, history and pure nature. Nestling in Labarde, in the heart of the Médoc, Château Giscours is more than just a Grand Cru Classé since 1855: it’s a living, rich, teeming world just waiting to be explored.

As soon as you enter, the tone is set. You pass through a majestic gate, walk up a driveway lined with century-old trees… and discover this magnificent neoclassical residence, set in the middle of an estate of almost 300 hectares, 86 of which are given over to vines. A site that impresses as much for its size as for its unique atmosphere.

A story of character and passion

At Giscours, every stone tells a story. While the first vines were planted in 1552, the château as we see it today is built on the site of an ancient defensive keep. This past gives the estate its assertive character, maintained over time by visionary owners, right up to the Albada Jelgersma family who today watch over this Médoc jewel.

But Giscours is much more than a great wine. It’s a land of innovation and reinvention, where excellence is cultivated without ever forgetting authenticity.

An exceptional natural setting

What’s also striking is the nature. The Parc de Giscours, designed by the famous landscape architect Eugène Bühler, is an invitation to stroll. Ponds, meadows, rare trees and shady paths make up a lively landscape, almost out of time. It’s an ideal place to recharge your batteries, have a picnic, or even celebrate a unique moment: weddings, garden parties and private events find a setting that lives up to their promises.

And to extend the experience, why not take advantage of a tour of the estate or learn about wine at a sensory workshop? Giscours offers immersive experiences that give a real human and sensory dimension to this great name in wine.

An estate that thrives all year round

Around the château, life is in full swing. The famous Ferme Suzanne, adjoining the estate, hosts festive and cultural events throughout the year. It’s a lively place, rooted in its territory, blending tradition and conviviality, serving the same ambition: to share the beauty and richness of the Médoc.
