Château d'Agassac

Ludon-Médoc is home to a château steeped in history and authenticity: Château d’Agassac. Dating back to the 13th century, this emblematic estate invites you to immerse yourself in a world where heritage, nature and wine meet in elegance.

Step inside and you’ll be amazed by the majestic grounds and vast cellars, testimony to a winegrowing tradition that goes back centuries. Château d’Agassac is an Exceptional Cru Bourgeois, combining ancestral know-how with modern techniques to produce wines that reflect all the richness of its unique terroir.

A living history anchored in time

While the exact origin of the château remains shrouded in legend, with a Latin inscription referring to a past dating back to the 11th century, archives attest to a strong presence since the 13th century, with Gaillard de Gassac among its first lords. The estate has stood the test of time, and in the late 19th century was enriched by the merger of two neighbouring estates, D’Agassac and Pomiès-Agassac, thus consolidating its winegrowing footprint.

A strong commitment to nature

At Château d’Agassac, a passion for wine goes hand in hand with a strong environmental conscience. A pioneer in this approach, it was the first estate to be certified Terra Vitis in 2004, followed by ISO 14001 and HVE 3 (High Environmental Value, level 3, the most demanding) certifications. Here, the vines are pampered with respect, thanks to reasoned viticulture, meticulous green work (disbudding, leaf-thinning, thinning) and constant attention paid to biodiversity.

An experience to live

But Château d’Agassac is also a place where the art of entertaining is recognised, and has won several Best of Wine Tourism awards. Whether it’s guided tours, tastings or events, the welcome is warm and passionate.
