Château Barreyres

In the heart of the Médoc, in Arcins, between the vineyards and the estuary, stands a jewel of winegrowing heritage: Château Barreyres. This elegant residence, guarded by two mythological sphinxes, embodies all the nobility of the region: majestic landscapes, sustainable and rigorous viticulture, and wines of remarkable finesse.

An exceptional estate, an elegant signature

Chateau Barreyres, located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, stands out for the care it takes at every stage, from the vineyard to the cellar. Each plot is carefully worked according to its needs. The vineyard is made up of Cabernet-Sauvignon (55%) and Merlot (45%), a perfect balance that reflects the richness of its terroir.

The charm of the château doesn’t stop at its wines. Its verdant grounds, peaceful pond where swans swim, and above all, the two stone sphinges that have guarded the entrance since 1833, give the place a unique and almost magical atmosphere.

A philosophy engraved in stone: "Neither vanity nor weakness".

The estate’s motto runs through the generations like a red thread: a promise of exacting standards, humility and patience. Since 1971, Pierre Castel has watched over the estate with passion. With its 101 hectares, Château Barreyres is an estate of character, both rigorous and deeply human.

Sustainable, committed winegrowing

Certified Terra Vitis since 2018, the estate is committed to respectful, sensible and responsible farming. Every gesture is considered, every intervention is measured, to preserve biodiversity and keep the land alive and fertile. It’s a daily job, made up of observation and listening, in close connection with the terroir.
